Nigel Richards Driving School respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you when you use this website or enquire about lessons.
Who we are
For the purposes of UK data protection law, Nigel Richards Driving School is the data controller for information submitted through this website. To ask a privacy question or request access to your information, please use the contact details on our Contact page.
Information we collect
- Your name, email address, and any telephone number or message you choose to provide.
- The lesson block or service you ask about and your preferred availability.
- Technical information such as browser type, device information, and pages visited, where this is collected through cookies or similar technologies.
How we use your information
- To respond to enquiries and arrange or manage lesson bookings.
- To provide booking information, payment instructions, confirmations, and important service updates.
- To keep appropriate business records, improve our website, and protect the safety and security of our service.
Lawful basis and sharing
We rely on your consent when you choose to send an enquiry, on steps needed to arrange a booking, and on legitimate interests such as maintaining secure records and improving our service. We do not sell your personal information. We only share it where necessary to provide the service, comply with the law, protect safety, or use a trusted provider acting on our instructions.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry and booking information only for as long as reasonably necessary for customer service, accounting, legal, and safeguarding purposes. When it is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Subject to legal conditions, you may ask for a copy of your information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of processing, or an explanation of how it is used. You may also object to certain processing or withdraw consent where consent is the basis. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you remain concerned.
Cookie Policy
Last updated: 8 September 2026
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. They help pages work, remember preferences, and provide information about how a site is used.
How this website uses cookies
- Strictly necessary technologies: used to support core page behaviour, form handling, security, and navigation. These cannot be switched off where they are required for the website to function.
- Preference technologies: used, where enabled, to remember choices such as display or consent preferences.
- Analytics technologies: may be used in future to understand visits and improve the website. These will only be used where the required consent has been obtained.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may affect forms, navigation, or other parts of the website. Your browser’s help section explains how to manage cookies for your device.
Third-party services
Some pages may load services such as fonts, form processing, maps, or other embedded content from third parties. Those providers may set their own cookies or process technical information under their own privacy policies. We do not use third-party cookies for advertising on this website.
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 8 September 2026
These terms apply to use of this website and to enquiries and lesson bookings made with Nigel Richards Driving School. By sending an enquiry or booking a lesson, you agree to these terms together with the lesson policies shown on our Policies page.
Enquiries and bookings
Submitting the online form is an enquiry, not a confirmed booking. We will contact you via WhatsApp to confirm availability, discuss the lesson details, and explain any required reservation payment. A booking is confirmed only when the lesson details and payment have been agreed and we have sent written booking confirmation.
Prices and payment
Current lesson block prices are shown on the website and are based on £35 per hour. Prices may change for future bookings, but we will confirm the applicable price before asking you to pay. Reservation payment instructions are provided privately through the confirmed WhatsApp conversation; do not send payment details through social media or an unsecured message.
Lessons and learner responsibilities
Learners must follow their instructor’s reasonable safety instructions and tell us about any medical condition, medication, licence restriction, or other matter that may affect safe driving. Lessons may be paused or ended where safety would otherwise be compromised.
Cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds
Our cancellation, rescheduling, block validity, insurance, and refund rules are set out on the Policies page. Those rules form part of these terms. Any exceptional circumstances will be considered fairly and reasonably, but an exception is not an automatic waiver of the published policy.
Website content
We take reasonable care to keep this website accurate and available, but lesson availability, images, descriptions, and other content may change. Website content is provided for general information and does not replace direct confirmation of a booking or professional driving instruction.
Liability and governing law
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, our service is provided with reasonable care and skill. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales unless applicable consumer law requires otherwise.
Changes to these documents
We may update this page when our service, legal obligations, or website changes. The latest version will always be published here with its updated date.
